Route 8 House Fire - 5/11/04

Nothing but charred rubble remains of a one-story frame house and its contents along Route 8, just south of Stewart Road, following a fire reported at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. The house had been occupied by Joyce McKinnon and her daughters Lee Anne, 12, and Breanne, 10, but they and two of the girls' girlfriends were staying the night next door because McKinnon's mother was ill. The move likely saved their lives, New Manchester firefighters told them. Lawrenceville and Newell assisted with the blaze. The family had already planned to move into a double-wide trailer home adjacent to the home that burned, and has excavated a lot for that purpose (Photo by Fred Miller)

Fire in Pumpkin Hollow - 5/10/04
This older frame farmhouse on Pumpkin Hollow Road in Hanover Township, PA. was a complete loss in a fire reported around 7 p.m. Monday. The owner, reported by a neighbor as Bonnie LeMasters but by a friend as Bonnie Hunt Allen, apparently was not home at the time. Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Department was in charge of the scene. Numerous departments including New Manchester assisted by hauling water. (Photo by Fred Miller)
