Wellsville woman in Pittsburgh hospital following traffic accident

From Review Staff Reports

CHESTER - A Wellsville woman is still in a Pittsburgh hospital following a traffic accident early Sunday morning on state Route 8.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff's office, Marcia Parish, a.k.a. Marcia McKenzie, of Wellsville was transported by helicopter to Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh following the 3 a.m. accident.

A hospital operator later Sunday confirmed Parrish was still a patient at the hospital as of 3 p.m. Sunday, but further information on Parrish's condition was not available.

A press release from the Hancock County Sheriff's Department also indicated that Parish was headed north on state Route 8, about one-tenth of a mile from state Route 208, when she veered left of center and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Chad Alan Lamp of Chester.

Units from [New Manchester Fire Department]* used the jaws of life to extract Parrish from her vehicle. She was transported to a landing site on Route 30 by Chester/Newell Ambulance and was then taken to UPMC.

[Brian Speck, Wellsville, was a passenger in Lamp's vehicle ]+ and was transported by New Cumberland Ambulance Service to East Liverpool City Hospital for minor injuries.

Lamp was examined by emergency medical personnel at the scene and was not taken to the hospital.
